Our Story

About Matt

Matt Suess is a former photojournalist and fine artist turned world-traveling photography educator and life coach—basically, a man who knows how to focus a lens and spot bullshit from a distance. He’s spent 35+ years behind the camera and the last few navigating the hellscape that is modern dating—with a camera in one hand and a giant red flag detector in the other.

Yet somehow he still found himself deep in the fog of dating apps, dodging the same “newly single, not over my ex, still emotionally unavailable” archetype that keeps showing up in his match requests.

When he’s not leading luxury photo workshops across the world or running his Personal Development & Momentum Coaching business, Matt is likely shaking his head at a profile that says “Not looking for anything serious... unless you’re at least 5’8”, fit, and financially stable.” He’s blunt in the best way, allergic to BS, and the first to say, “You’re not crazy—he’s just emotionally constipated.”

On the mic, Matt brings a dose of logic, a touch of cynicism, compassion & empathy, and just enough optimism to keep things interesting. He’s been through it all—swipe fatigue, ghosting, breadcrumbing, and the weirdly high number of people who list “sarcasm” as a personality trait. And through it all, he still believes that dating can be better—if you know how to read the signs.

Our Story

About Kelli

Kelli is a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, chronic illness ninja, and master of sniffing out red flags before the first text even ends. She’s the owner of Inspire Wellness in Bozeman, Montana, and while she might be soft-spoken in clinic, don't let the calm voice fool you—she’s got stories that’ll make your jaw drop and your vibrator short-circuit.

Her dating app history is filled with gems like, “Just got out of a 15-year marriage and looking to explore” and “If you can’t handle me at my worst, you don’t deserve my mediocre.” She’s been catfished, trauma-dumped, and once received a selfie from a guy sitting on the toilet mid-conversation.

Kelli brings her whole self to the mic—compassion, insight, and an impressive collection of "did-that-really-just-happen" dating stories. She’s been love-bombed, ghosted, breadcrumbed, and once matched with a man who opened with a detailed fantasy involving her and his ex-wife (yes, really). So if you’ve been burned, confused, or just plain tired, you’re in good company.

She’s not jaded, but she is sharp—and she’s not afraid to call out the difference between “he’s emotionally unavailable” and “you’re ignoring every red flag because the sex is decent.” Her vibe? Insight meets eye-roll, tea meets truth. Kelli’s here to help you stop overanalyzing that one emoji in his text and start trusting your own damn instincts.

🎤 How They Met (And Didn't End Up in Bed)

Like all great modern romances, Matt and Kelli met on a dating app. And like many app-origin stories, this one went absolutely nowhere romantic.

But instead of ghosting each other, they grabbed drinks and dinner and shared way too much about their dating lives. Just two grown-ass adults enjoying each other’s company who both quickly realized, “Okay, we’re not meant to make out—but we might be meant to create a dating podcast that others could relate to!”

What started as a "meh" match turned into a brilliant idea: make a show where they could air out the wild, confusing, hilarious world of dating—and help others laugh through it too. Thus, Red Flag or Green Flag was born: part dating confessional, part coaching session, and part group therapy with tea (and occasionally tequila).

Now, every other week, Matt and Kelli sit down to spill the tea, laugh through the chaos, and unpack what’s really going on in the apps, in the dates, and in the quiet moments after someone fades into silence.

They’re not love experts.

They’re not therapists.

They’re just two observant, self-aware humans who’ve seen the red flags, ignored a few, learned a lot, and decided to turn it into a show.

Because dating might be messy—but at least now you don’t have to navigate it alone.
